JAKARTA – Two 'cowboys' who carried out the muggings at Vol Bottle, Senopati, Kebayoran Baru, South Jakarta have been arrested and made suspects by the South Jakarta Metro Police.

The police confiscated some evidence in the form of an airsoft gun and a brass knuckle (a tool made of iron that is tucked in one's hand). The two suspects, with the initials AAR and IR, were arrested without a fight.

"The perpetrators were brandishing and pointing firearms at visitors at an entertainment venue", said the South Jakarta Metro Police Chief, Commissioner Budhi Herdi Susianto to reporters at the South Jakarta Metro Police, Wednesday, June 15.

Budhi said that the incident started with reporting the victim, AA, who claimed to have been abused by AAR and brandished a weapon. The robbery was reported to have occurred on Sunday, June 12.

"The Indonesian National Police moved to receive reports on Sunday, and for the suspect AAR to be arrested in the Kemang area, on Sunday as well, June 12", he said.

After finding one suspect, the police carried out an examination and development to reveal the perpetrators of IR.

"Then getting one suspect with the identity of IR on Tuesday, June 14, the suspect IR surrendered himself to investigators", he said.

"However, when he turned himself in, he showed the gun that was being used at point-blank, different characteristics from what we saw in the video", he added.

Therefore, his party re-examined and searched the suspect IR. The result was found a weapon that was allegedly used during the incident of assaulting the victim AA.

"They searched the car and found a weapon that was allegedly used at the time of the crime at the VB cafe, namely a Baretta type Soft Gun", he said.

For his actions, the suspect IR under the Emergency Law is threatened with a maximum sentence of 20 years in prison for possession of weapons. Meanwhile, for AAR, we are snaring article 351 with a penalty of 2 years and 8 months.

For information, the video of the cowboy action went viral on social media, and a group of people appeared in a room.

Not long after, one visitor wearing a hat pushed another visitor. The visitor with the hat was seen pointing an object suspected of being a gun.
