JAKARTA - Special Staff to the Minister of SOEs, Arya Sinulingga, explained the reason why state-owned companies were not sponsors of the Formula E electric car race. It turned out that the sponsorship proposal submitted by the Jakarta E-Prix 2022 organizing committee was on average a month before the match.
"In supporting large and international-scale events, SOEs need time to carry out the sponsorship review process, including also conducting business feasibility studies and cooperation models to meet the principles of Good Corporate Governance (GCG)", said Arya Sinulingga in a statement in Jakarta, Antara, Friday, June 3rd.
He explained that the process of reviewing sponsorship proposals varies according to the regulations of each state-owned company and there is no policy to prevent sponsorship of the Formula E electric car race.
According to him, SOEs generally accept proposals for large national and international events no later than three months before the event or even a year before.
"Thus, there is sufficient time to conduct a study before making a decision based on the business aspect and the contribution of the social value of SOEs to the community", explained Arya.
The Ministry of SOEs, in principle, supports all initiatives to advance national development, including various national tourism industry programs, such as the 2022 MotoGP event at the Mandalika Circuit, Lombok some time ago.
Currently, state-owned companies are concentrating on supporting a major state event, namely the G20 meeting in Bali in October 2022.
The Formula E racing event is scheduled to take place at the Jakarta International E-Prix Circuit (JIEC) Ancol, Pademangan, North Jakarta, on Saturday, June 4.
