Commemorated Every June 1, Mahfud MD Tells The History Of The Birth Of Pancasila

JAKARTA - Coordinating Minister for Political, Legal, and Security Affairs (Menkopolhukam) Mahfud MD, conveyed a happy Pancasila Birthday which is commemorated every June 1 to all Indonesian people.

"Happy Pancasila Birthday," said Mahfud MD, quoted from his Twitter account, Wednesday, June 1.

Mahfud then told the history of the birth of Pancasila as the basis of the state. At that time, the first President of the Republic of Indonesia, Soekarno, made a speech about the basis of the Indonesian state. "77 years ago, June 1, 1945, Bung Karno delivered a speech at the BPUPK Session about the state he proposed, namely Pancasila," explained Mahfud MD.

After Pancasila was born, Mahfud explained, on June 22, 1945, Bung Karno led Team 9 which processed its proposal into the "Mukaadimah" known as the Jakarta Charter. Mahfud said, Pancasila is a noble agreement of all elements of the nation. "Pancasila is a sublime agreement (mietsaqon gholiedza) that makes Indonesia a 'dar al mietsaq' or 'dar al ahdi' or state of 'agreement in a collective agreement,' said Mahfud.

With the mutual agreement of Pancasila, Mahfud continued, all regions in Indonesia were united within the framework of the Unitary State of the Republic of Indonesia (NKRI). Where there are different but still one society.

"We are united in common ground (Kalimatun sawa), united in diversity. Subhanallah walhamdulillah wallahu akbar," said Mahfud.

According to Mahfud, the process of the birth of Pancasila has improved and ensured that all elements of the nation agree on the opening of the 1945 Constitution on August 18, 1945, or the day after the reading of the proclamation.

"After making improvements with a new agreement on August 18, 1945, the PPK agreed on the 'Mukaddimah' to become the 'Opening' of the 1945 Constitution which contains 5 basic state principles whose contents are Pancasila, which we currently agree on as 'mietsaqon gholidza' or the noble agreement," Mahfud said.
