Panther's Car Caught Fire Because The Gas Station Employee Filled The Wrong Pertalite Fuel, The Police Should Still Be Investigating

BANDA ACEH - The Banda Aceh Police carried out further investigations regarding the suspicion of incorrectly filling fuel oil (BBM) into the tank of an Isuzu Panther car that caused the car to catch fire in the Batoh gas station area, Banda Aceh City.

"We are continuing to investigate regarding the incorrect fuel content at the Batoh gas station which caused the Isuzu Panther car to catch fire yesterday afternoon," said Head of Criminal Investigation Unit for the Banda Aceh Police, Kompol M Ryan Citra Yudha, quoted by Antara, Wednesday, May 25.

Previously, a Panther brand car with the police number BB 1904 BB caught fire at the Batoh gas station, Lueng Bata District, Banda Aceh City, Tuesday (24/5) afternoon, allegedly as a result of an error in filling the type of fuel.

Ryan explained, based on the results of their investigation so far it was known that the incident began when the victim arrived at the Batoh gas station to fill up diesel fuel at pump number three and was served by an officer named Syawaluddin.

Then, the victim stopped his car at pump number three, and asked the gas station attendant on duty to fill up with diesel oil of Rp. 170 thousand with the car's engine still running.

"However, Syawaluddin as the gas station officer took the wrong pump, where the pump is a pump for pertalite type fuel," he said.

Knowing the wrong contents, said Ryan, other officers who realized that the type of fuel being filled was not diesel, immediately informed Syawaluddin.

After that, the officer asked the car owner to turn off the car's engine and then together with the officers pushed the car to a place further away from the gas station engine pump.

Next, Syawaluddin's officer took a bucket to give to the car owner as a container for pertalite oil that would be re-issued.

"Unbeknownst to the officers, then the owner of the car started the car engine, and not long after that suddenly there was an explosion that caused the car to catch fire," he also said.

For this incident, the Satreskrim Polresta Banda Aceh conducted an investigation and ascertained the cause of the fire that had been going viral on social media.

"We are examining the witnesses and in the near future will conduct a case," said Commissioner Ryan.
