JAKARTA - The Indonesian Doctors Association (IDI) commemorates the Indonesian Doctor's Service Day (HBDI) which this year takes the theme 'IDI Reborn-Devoted to the Country, Serves the People'.

It is hoped that in the future doctors in Indonesia will be able to communicate more intelligently without forgetting the foundations and ideology of their profession.

"IDI Reborn is a form of the birth of Indonesian doctors with new faces who are able to communicate smarter, more effectively, and more innovatively, without forgetting the basic foundations and ideology of a profession," said General Chairperson of the Indonesian Doctors Association, Moh. Adib Khumaidi in his written statement, Thursday, May 19.

The HDBI is commemorated every May 20 and the opening of the activity will be held in Sukolilo District, Pati Regency, Central Java.

Chairman of IDI Central Java Djoko Handoyo hopes that IDI in various regions in the country will simultaneously carry out promotive and refenitive activities to the community.

"Especially by moving awareness-raising and prevention programs, both individually and in groups and communities. Although the spread of COVID-19 has begun to be controlled, the public is expected to maintain the health protocols that have been implemented during the pandemic," he said.

Meanwhile, the Chairperson of the HBDI Central Java 2022 Committee, Cahyono Hadi, said there were a number of activities to be held. Among them is the Healthy Community Movement, which targets residents in coastal areas who generally have difficulty in obtaining wells, latrines, and clean water.

"In addition, there are other activities to improve public health such as mass circumcision, blood donation, health screening for children, pregnant women and the elderly, as well as cataract surgery, and others," said Cahyono.

It is hoped that in the future doctors under the auspices of IDI together with the community can continue to collaborate and formulate health improvements without leaving existing local wisdom.

Not only that, IDI ensures that it will continue to serve the people in the country. Moreover, in the midst of the COVID-19 pandemic, doctors will faithfully serve selflessly.
