In Last 4 Months, Average Case Of Dengue Fever In Bogor Has Reached 100 Patients

BOGOR - The Health Office (Dinkes) of the City of Bogor, West Java, recorded the average number of cases of the spread of Dengue Hemorrhagic Fever (DHF) in hospitals and health centers in the last four months (January-April 2022) of more than 100 patients every month.

Secretary of the Bogor City Health Office, Erna Nuraena, said that dengue was one of the concentrations of treatment at the Community Health Center (puskesmas) and hospitals in the area.

"From an average of over 100 patients, in February there were only 75 people and the highest was in March as many as 155 people," Erna said in Bogor City, Antara, Monday, May 16.

Erna detailed that in January in the rainy season, cases of dengue fever patients reached 129 people. Then it fell in February to 75 people, jumped 100 percent to 155 people in March and started to fall in April to 152 people.

The data were reported from 25 health centers spread across six sub-districts in the city of Bogor.

According to data from the Bogor City Health Office, in April, there were 24 people in the Bondongan Health Center, 19 in the East Bogor Health Center, 13 in the Mulya Harja Health Center, and 12 in the Cipaku Health Center.

Furthermore, North Bogor Health Center with 10 patients, South Bogor Health Center, Pondok Rumput Health Center eight people, Kedung Badak Health Center seven people, Gang Kelor Health Center six people, Mekarwangi Health Center five people, Tegal Gundil Health Center, Sempur and Belong and Pasir Mulya four people each.

Merdeka and Sindang Barang Health Centers have three people each, Warung Jambu and Semplak Health Centers have two people, Kayu Manis Health Center, Central Bogor, Lawang Gintung and Pulo Armyn each, while Tanah Sareal and Gang Aut Health Centers have zero patients.

DHF disease caused by mosquitoes due to stagnant water that is rarely cleaned in the neighborhood or residents' activities needs to be anticipated by the community.

Health Entomologist of the Bogor City Health Office Fairuz Hayati added that dengue fever can cause death for sufferers with symptoms of sudden high fever, headache, rash, muscle and joint pain, nausea and vomiting, and fatigue, and in severe cases severe bleeding and life-threatening shock.

"In general, DHF sufferers will also experience a fever phase for 2-7 days. DHF vigilance needs to be taken seriously by the community," said Fairuz.
