JAKARTA - DKI Jakarta Governor Anies Baswedan ensured that the repair of the Gembrong Market, East Jakarta will be carried out in stages starting next week after it caught fire on Sunday, April 24.

Anies explained that the repairs will prioritize buildings that are by the contours of the area, meet the availability of light fire extinguishing equipment, and are environmentally friendly and to the needs of residents.
"Thus, residents affected by the fire can return to occupy better housing", he added.
In addition to physically revitalizing buildings, in the future, his party will also assist residents to understand the concept of a healthy environment including sanitation, lighting, availability of infiltration wells, disaster mitigation, and environmental management factors.
On the first day of Eid, Anies returned to stay in touch with residents who were affected by the fire in the Gembrong Market area.
