PRAYA - The Criminal Investigation Unit of the Central Lombok Police, West Nusa Tenggara (NTB), has named the victim of a robbery with the initials S (34) as a suspect in the alleged murder of two robbers who attacked him in Change Village, East Praya District, Sunday, January 10 in the morning.
"Victims of robbery are subject to Article 338 of the Criminal Code for killing someone, violating the law and Article 351 of the Criminal Code paragraph (3) committing assault resulting in the loss of a person's life", said Deputy Chief of the Central Lombok Police, Commissioner I Ketut Tamiana at a press conference in Central Lombok, reported by Antara, Tuesday, April 12.
In addition to establishing S as a suspect in the alleged murder and assault case, the police also named two other robbers, the initials WH and HO, as suspects in the stealing crime case.
Suspect WH and suspect HO, residents of Beleka Village, were robbers who managed to escape when the victim attacked two other robbers to death.
The police are still investigating the case, so it will be revealed at the trial in the district court whether suspect S can be charged even though he killed the robber to save himself.
"Depending on the results of the investigation, articles 48 and 49 of the Criminal Code regarding overmatch or force majeure may also be imposed. It depends on the verdict in the trial later", he added.
Tamiana explained the chronology of the incident began when S went to East Lombok to deliver rice to his mother.
Then, in the middle of the road, S was grabbed by two robbers, so he fought back using sharp weapons. Not long after, two other robbers arrived. However, the four robbers were successfully overthrown by S even though they were alone.
The evidence confiscated by the police consisted of four sharp weapons and three motorbikes allegedly used by S and the robbers.

The Central Lombok Police held a crime scene investigation (TKP) at the location where the two bodies were found in Jalan Ganti Village, East Praya District, Sunday, April 10 evening.
Central Lombok Police Chief, AKBP Hery Indra Cahyono, in a written statement in Praya, Sunday, said officers immediately went to and processed the crime scene after receiving reports from the public.

The identities of the two victims, namely P (30) and OWP (21), are residents of Belaka Village, East Praya District. Both residents were found dead and lying on the side of the road at around 01.30 WITA.
At the scene of the crime, officers also found a Honda Scoopy motorbike which was suspected to belong to the victim, a sickle, and a knife with a length of about 35cm. The two bodies were then evacuated to Bhayangkara Hospital NTB for an autopsy for investigation purposes.
