KULON PROGO - The Government of Kulon Progo Regency, Special Region of Yogyakarta (DIY), will conduct socialization to companies in the region so that they provide

holiday wages and allowances (THR) before May 1. This is also part of the anticipation of the demonstration on the commemoration of Labor Day.

The Regent of Kulon Progo Sutedjo said that on the commemoration of Labor Day, there is the potential for demonstrations if workers' rights are not given full THR.

"We have asked the Head of the Manpower and Transmigration Service (Disnakertrans) to approach and disseminate wages and THR payments to companies in Kulon Progo before May 1," said Sutedjo in Kulon Progo, Antara, Friday, April 8.

He admitted that the COVID-19 pandemic in the last two years had forced several companies in Kulon Progo to reduce their workforce. There are also small companies that pay their workers according to their ability. "This is indeed a concern for us, so that May Day does not become a new problem," he said.

Meanwhile, the Sub Coordinator of Labor Protection Welfare, Kulon Progo Department of Manpower, Transmigration and Energy (Disnakertrans) Ritus Widyanurti said workers who wish to complain about THR can be done online through the official website https://nakertrans.jogjaprov.go.id/thr/

Through the website, complaints filed by workers will be directly integrated with the DIY Manpower and Transmigration Office. Then, workers who want to complain offline can come directly to the Kulon Progo Manpower and Transmigration Office. Complaints are made by filling out a form provided.

"We have opened a complaint post for holiday allowances (THR) for workers who have not received their rights from the wage provider. We serve complaints in two ways, online and offline. The goal is to monitor companies providing workers' rights according to existing regulations," said Ritus.
