Police Ensure No Cooking Oil Crisis In Riau Islands Until Eid 2022

KEPRI - Riau Islands Police Chief (Kepri) Inspector General of Police Aris Budiman ensured that there was no shortage of cooking oil in his area. He said the stock of cooking oil in the area was safe until Eid Al-Fitr 1443 Hijri.

"We guarantee that all the needs of the community can be distributed. Because cooking oil stocks are safe until Eid later," said the Riau Islands Police Chief in Batam, Thursday, April 7.

The Regional Police Chief conveyed this based on the results of direct monitoring of a number of distributor companies and cooking oil markets, especially those operating in Batam City. For example, PT Synergy Oil Nusantara (SON) Kabil and CV Murni Inti Sawit Batu Ampar and the Tos 300 market for matchmaking in Batam.

The Regional Police Chief asked the bulk oil companies not to commit fraud. He also stressed to distributors and retailers not to play with one of the basic needs of the community.

In accordance with the order of the Chief of Police, he said, the Cooking Oil Supervision Task Force, which involves elements of the National Armed Forces (TNI)/the National Police (Polri) and the Industry and Trade Service (Disperindag), is tasked with monitoring the distribution of cooking oil to the public.

“Don't deviate, over-price or hoard with the aim of selling it at a high price. If anyone tries to hoard, the National Police together with other relevant officials will take firm action so that it doesn't happen that just because a handful of people will make it difficult for the community," he asserted, citing Antara.

Meanwhile, the Head of Public Relations of the Riau Islands Police, Commissioner Police officer Harry Goldenhardt asked the public not to buy too much cooking oil, but rather enough to suit their needs.

He also appealed to the public not to feel restless and afraid of the scarcity of cooking oil, because the stock will certainly be available during Ramadan until Eid Al-Fitr 1443 Hijri.

"So, let's buy cooking oil fairly so that it is distributed evenly to all people. I also ask the cooking oil distributors to really market fairly and evenly," said the Head of Public Relations.
