COVID-19 Update As Of April 5th: 2,282 New Cases, Highest DKI Jakarta 568 Cases

JAKARTA - The Ministry of Health released the latest additional positive cases of COVID-19 as of today. A total of 152,422 specimens were examined with the result that there were 2,282 new positive cases of COVID-19.

"The total accumulation of positive cases since COVID-19 was discovered in Indonesia has reached 6,023,924 and active cases have fallen by 5,031 to 85,204", said Ministry of Health data, Tuesday, April 5.

Today's recovered cases increased by 7,241 people, bringing the total to 5,783,299 recovered people. Then, the positive confirmed cases who died increased by 72 cases and a total of 155,421 people.

The province with the newest cases is DKI Jakarta with 568 cases and a total of 1,240,678 cases. Followed by West Java which has 405 new cases with a total of 1,100,917 cases. Central Java has 288 new cases and a total of 624,903 cases. Banten has 280 new cases and a total of 290,309 cases.

The province with the most recovered cases today belongs to West Java with an additional 2,154 recovered cases. Followed by Central Java with an additional 1,219 recovered cases, Banten with an additional 665 recovered cases, and DKI Jakarta with an additional 571 recovered cases.

In addition, the number of specimens that have been examined using RT-PCR, TCM, and antigens reached 92,541,687.

"Positive results per number of people examined or the positivity rate of people this week was 3.88 percent", it wrote.

The number of people suspected of contracting COVID-19 or who are currently categorized as suspected cases was recorded at 5,755 people. Currently, 34 provinces have had cases of COVID-19.

To date, 196,880,155 people have received the first dose of COVID-19 vaccination and 160,107,212 people have received the second dose of vaccination. Then, the third dose of vaccination was 24,046,339. Meanwhile, the target for vaccination in Indonesia is 208,265,720 people.
