JAKARTA - In the midst of the onslaught of fast fashion trends and a consumer lifestyle, Manohara actually looks different with the principle of a minimalist life that he has lived for years. Manohara emphasized that he is not the type of person who is easily tempted by the latest products.

"It just happens that it is a trend now, minimalist life, but actually I have been like that, not the type who follows trends. So it's not the type of person who if there is a new model bag or a new model shirt it has to be followed," said Manohara in the Senayan area, South Jakarta, not long ago.

He even doesn't feel the need to replace his electronic goods or accessories just for the sake of prestige.

"Or for example, there are hangers, what should I buy, no. Or there is the latest HP that I have to buy immediately, I'm not that way at all," he added.

One of the clear evidence of his lifestyle is the clothes he wears during the interview. Manohara is not ashamed to admit that the pants he is wearing are decades old.

"For example, maybe the outfit I'm wearing now, this pants I bought in 2010 or 2011," he said.

For him, as long as the goods are still functioning properly, there is no reason to buy a new one.

"And in my opinion, if it can still be used, why not. It just so happens that my taste is more classic and timeless, so it doesn't go up and down with trends like that, it will always look fine," he said.

Although often considered a socialite who likes to collect luxury goods, Manohara denies this assumption.

"Not much (bags), it's probably a misunderstanding that I'm the bag collector, I have a lot of shoes, it's not the same at all. I'm very conservative in whatever," he explained.

This minimalist principle is in line with his concern for the environment which he has been engaged in for a long time.

"For the environment, I have been an active volunteer for the environment and animals since 2017. So it's been a long time, and yeah, something that's very important," said Manohara.

His love for Indonesian nature is the main motivation behind his involvement in conservation activities.

"In my opinion, Indonesia is very rich in nature. We have the second largest rainforest in the world, and I hope that we are not only a nation that has that wealth but also takes care of it," he hoped.

In fact, he feels that he gets positive energy every time he interacts with environmental activists in the field.

"Meeting people who really take care of the forest, take care of nature, it is very inspiring," said the woman who is active in outdoor activities.

Closing the discussion, Manohara emphasized that every item she bought must have a long-term value.

"I make sure that when I buy it, I really like it and can wear it over and over again. I see this is really a timeless model that can be worn 10 years later and will still look fine," he concluded.
