2 Yogya Residents Who Got Laid Off Get Rp4 Million In Job Loss Guarantee Compensation

JAKARTA - The Yogyakarta Employment Social Security Administration (BPJS) handed over job loss insurance benefits to two residents of Bantul Regency who were laid off from their companies.

"Today we held an audience with the Bantul Regent as well as a symbolic handover of compensation to BPJS Employment participants who were at risk of death, then to employees who were laid off," said Head of BPJS Ketenagakerjaan DIY Teguh Wiyono in Bantul, Friday, April 1, quoted from Antara.

As many as two BPJS participants affected by layoffs who received Job Loss Insurance (JKP) compensation, namely Muhammad Afsanuddin and Ani Astuti, both former employees of a company in Bantul, each received compensation of Rp. 4 million.

A total of three other people, two heirs received Death Security benefits, and one received Death Security benefits plus educational scholarships up to college level.

"So, starting in February, those who have been laid off will receive Job Loss Guarantee assistance. Hopefully the benefits provided can help ease the burden on families, and especially for children who are still in school, they can continue their parents' dreams to college," he said. .

According to him, the job loss guarantee is given to workers who are laid off while they are still looking for work for the next six months.

"So the Job Loss Guarantee is given for six months, in which 45 percent is received the first three months of the reported wages, then the next 25 percent or the last three months of wages," he said.

He explained that JKP is a new program at BPJS Employment, so that the conditions for receiving this compensation are in addition to being a guarantee participant, but also participating in the work accident program, death insurance, old age insurance and national health insurance (JKN).

"This is a new program from the government without having to add additional contributions by the employer, so there is no need to add additional contributions, and every worker who is laid off will receive a guarantee," he said.
