Satpol PP Hasn't Disciplined Street Vendors On Kalibaru Kemayoran Because No Order From The Leader

JAKARTA - The Civil Service Police Unit (Satpol PP) of Kemayoran Sub-district said that it had not been able to control 100 street vendors (PKL) selling along Kalibaru Timur Street, Pasar Nangka, Utan Panjang Village, Kemayoran, Central Jakarta.

The reason is, the Satpol PP cannot move because there has been no order from the leadership.

"There is no action against traders yet," said Kasatpol PP Kemayoran District, Asmar Panjaitan when contacted by reporters, Tuesday, March 29.

Asmar Panjaitan said the existence of the 100 traders had long been discussed by the sub-district.

Previously, the Central Jakarta City Government level team had time to visit the location.

"Actually, the Central Jakarta PPKUKM Sub-Department had a review before COVID-19. It was planned that the merchants wanted to be included in the loksem under the guidance of the Central Jakarta PPKUKM Sub-dept., but so far this has not been realized," said Asmar.

Previously, it was reported that dozens of traders along Jalan Kalibaru Timur, Pasar Nangka, Kelurahan Utan Panjang, Kemayoran, Central Jakarta, were desperate to use pedestrian streets to sell.

In fact, special pedestrian paths for pedestrians and persons with disabilities are also blocked by the presence of merchant carts.

Manurung (56), one of the pedestrians, was surprised that there were rows of traders selling basic necessities on the sidewalk. So that pedestrians actually cross the shoulder of the public transportation road.

"That's clear for pedestrians, moreover there is a guiding block for people with disabilities or guide roads which are facilities for people with disabilities but instead are used for trading," he said at the location, Tuesday, March 29, morning.

In the same place, one of the traders with the initials JR admitted that he could trade in this location after getting permission from the Utan Panjang Village. Traders who are only 2 years old can trade on a pedestrian that is intended for pedestrians.

"Yes, we know that we are here for pedestrians, but we can get permission from the urban village. After all, pedestrians can walk on the main road," said JR, one of the traders.

JR explained that each trader is charged IDR 15,000 per day as security and cleanliness money. All the money was collected by the Pasar Nangka Bungur officer.
