JAKARTA - Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives Muhaimin Iskandar urged the war between Russia and Ukraine to be immediately stopped so as not to create global tensions.

"Of course we hope that a peaceful atmosphere will soon be created in Ukraine, we are very worried that it could trigger a global war," said Muhaimin after receiving the visit of the Russian Ambassador to Indonesia at the DPR building, Jakarta, Thursday, March 24.

Muhaimin hopes that there will be no tension between the west and the east, and most importantly Russia will become the main motor of the peace locomotive of a new world order that is humane, just, democratic and peaceful.

At the meeting, Cak Imin hoped that the new world order which was truly fair, there would be neither war in the Middle East nor war in South Asia, should remain peaceful and just.

Muhaimin emphasized that Indonesia's most basic position is that the Russia-Ukraine tensions are resolved as soon as possible. "Quickly ended the war and Russia handled the situation quickly," he said.

Russian Ambassador Lyudmila Georgievna Vorobieva was accompanied by staff from the Russian Embassy in Indonesia. Meanwhile, Muhaimin was accompanied by Member of the Indonesian House of Representatives F-PKB Daniel Johan and Deputy Secretary General of PKB Dita Indah Sari.

Muhaimin thanked Ambassador Lyudmila for visiting the people's house in Senayan, on that occasion Cak Imin also conveyed a number of views.

"Thank you, Mrs. Ambassador, who gave us many views so that we are more objective in assessing the war, the most important thing is that the war must be stopped quickly," he said.
