JAKARTA - The government has again extended the implementation of the Java-Bali community activity restrictions (PPKM) from March 22 to April 4. This extension was carried out based on the Instruction of the Minister of Home Affairs (Inmendagri) Number 18 of 2022.

"Previously, PPKM in Java and Bali was regulated through Inmendagri Number 16 of 2022 which ended on March 21, 2022," said Director General of Regional Administration of the Ministry of Home Affairs (Kemendagri) Safrizal in a written statement, Tuesday, March 22.

Safrizal then explained that currently there are no more areas that are at Level 4 PPKM. The reason is that currently the number of COVID-19 cases has started to slope.

"The PPKM regulation at level 4 has been removed because there are no longer regions that are in Level 4 PPKM than before, there were still seven regions," he said.

In addition to the decline for level 4, regions that implemented Level 3 PPKM also decreased from 66 regions to 39 regions. Meanwhile, for regions at level 2, there has been an increase from 55 regions to 83 regions and for Level 1 PPKM there are now 6 regions, whereas previously it was not.

For Level 1 PPKM Level, locations such as malls, cinemas, tourist attractions, and factories can operate 100 percent. "With the exception of the reception, the implementation is limited to 75 percent capacity," said Safrizal.

While Level 2 PPKM, cinemas can now operate with a maximum capacity of 75 percent from the previous 70 percent. Likewise for places to eat or restaurants and cafes in the cinema area from 50 percent to 75 percent.

With this positive trend, Safrizal reminded all parties to react wisely. Vigilance against COVID-19 still needs to be maintained.

"The increase in the number of regions at Level 2 and Level 1 as well as the decrease in Level 3, of course, must always be handled wisely without reducing the meaning of our vigilance by continuing to strive to strengthen vaccination achievements, including giving a third or booster injection," he concluded.
