President Putin Allows Special Military Operations In Ukraine, Moscow Intelligence Chief: Russia Has No Other Options

JAKARTA - Russia's fate and place in the world is being decided right now, with the main factor for the country's development being sovereignty, which will never be agreed to abandon, the head of the Russian Foreign Intelligence Service (SVR).

This was said by the Head of the SVR Sergei Naryskhin, on the sidelines of the first meeting of the council of experts on the development of historical education, under the Ministry of Education and Science.

"Our country is living through a truly historic moment. The future of Russia and its place in the world is at stake," he said, as quoted by TASS March 17.

"It must be remembered, sovereignty has always been a major factor for the development of Russia and the backbone of its thousand-year history. Just like the right to self-determination, freely and consciously," he explained.

"Sovereignty is a good protection for the existence and dignity of our citizens. This is the future of our children. Russia has never backed down from such problems and will never do so, because otherwise Russia will stop."

Naryshkin further emphasized that Russian President Vladimir Putin's decision to carry out special military operations in Ukraine was based on a very precise and realistic vision of the world situation.

According to him, the slightest delay in taking action against the blatant Russophobia regime in Kyiv, Ukraine will bring about a far worse tragedy.

"The decision of the Russian president to carry out special military operations with the aim of protecting the Donbass population and protecting the security of our country, relies on an in-depth analysis of historical laws and a very precise and realistic vision of the world situation," said Naryshkin.

"Russia has no other choice. The slightest delay in taking action against the Russophobia, corrupt and blatant oligarchic regime in Kyiv will bring great tragedy in the near future," he said.

For information, President Vladimir Putin authorized special military operations in Ukraine on 24 February. The goal is to demilitarize and denazify, not to occupy territory, and not to target civilians.

Meanwhile, Ukraine and Western countries considered the move far-fetched to carry out an invasion, followed by the imposition of sanctions on Moscow by the United States, its allies, and a number of other countries, which Russia responded with sanctions.
