Tangerang City Prosecutor Destroys Evidence, Starting From Counterfeit Money To Sickles

TANGERANG - The Tangerang City District Attorney's Office destroyed thousands of confiscated evidence from 250 cases for the period October 2021-March 2022 on Thursday, March 17.

The Head of the Tangerang City Attorney General's Office, Erich Folanda, said the destruction was based on the decision of the Tangerang City District Court.

He said the evidence in the case that was destroyed consisted of drugs, sharp weapons, and counterfeit US dollars.

"So basically it's the decision of the panel of judges who have agreed, there is no other legal remedy. We will destroy it immediately", explained Erich Folanda, Thursday, March 17.

Erich detailed that from 196 narcotics cases, some evidence was destroyed, such as 1.6 kilograms of marijuana, 1.3 kilograms of crystal methamphetamine, 1,092 pills of tramadol.

In addition, there were 54 non-narcotics cases with evidence that was destroyed, such as 1,945 fake 100 US dollar bills, 202 cell phones, three homemade firearms. Not only that, there are 31 sharp weapons such as machetes, samurai, and sickles.

"There is other evidence related to crimes and children's brawls in the Tangerang City area. There are sickles, samurai, all kinds of things that violate the Emergency Law on violent crimes", he said.
