MAGELANG - Central Java Governor Ganjar Pranowo reminded all regional heads in 35 regencies/cities to be aware of the changing world geopolitical situation after the Russia-Ukraine conflict.

"Be careful, now world oil prices are going up, usually gas prices go up, it will affect us," said Ganjar in Magelang Regency, Wednesday, March 16.

Ganjar said that many commodities could be affected by rising world oil and gas prices, and usually fertilizers and other basic needs would rise.

"For that, I ask to prepare a food policy. If you usually only plant rice, now prepare companion plants such as corn, cassava, and others," said the former member of the Indonesian House of Representatives.

Currently, Ganjar continued, the price of cooking oil in the market is still high, although market operations continue to be carried out, they have not been able to solve the problem.

"Be careful, it can disrupt our economic condition. Usually, volatile food can rise, we have to be on guard, especially when Ramadhan will be around the corner," he said, quoted by Antara.

According to Ganjar, the Central Java Provincial Government is preparing a strategy to anticipate the possible impacts of world political turmoil.

In this regard, Ganjar asked Bank Jateng to cooperate with Bank Indonesia, including experts, to draw up a "road map" to resolve these problems.

"The road map must be able to take pictures of the world's economic conditions. If we are in a position like this, we project for the next 5-10 years, what can be done. What should be done about food politics, energy, trade, tourism, MSMEs and others, what should we do?" There must be anticipation and a solution is sought," he said.
