Breaking News! The Plane That Carried Dozens Of Indonesian Citizens From Ukraine Finally Arrived In The Country

JAKARTA - The Garuda Indonesia wheel landed smoothly on the airport runway. Everyone rejoice. How not, in it there are dozens of Indonesian citizens (WNI) who previously had been successfully evacuated safely from Ukraine.

For information, the Ambassador and the staff of the Indonesian Embassy in Ukraine are still staying in Kyiv. This Garuda plane landed at Soekarno-Hatta Airport at around 17:10 WIB and was flown from Romania.

Previously, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs managed to evacuate 99 Indonesian citizens from Ukraine in two safe locations in Romania and Poland. Including five foreigners who are the family of Indonesian citizens.

"99 Indonesian citizens have left Ukraine, once again, including 5 Indonesian citizens who evacuated independently. And now they are at two safe points, namely in Bucharest, Romania and in Rzeszow, Poland", said Foreign Minister, Retno Marsudi, Tuesday, March 1 yesterday.

Foreign Minister Retno further explained the next step is to take the air route, to pick up the Indonesian citizens who are at the two points, with the plan being finalized.

"So once again, after the evacuations are safe at these two points, the next step is to pick them up by plane to return to Indonesia", said Foreign Minister Retno.

Then, 24 Indonesian citizens chose to stay in Ukraine because they were married to residents. Meanwhile, the other 13 Indonesian citizens, four in Kharkiv and nine in Chernihiv have yet to be evacuated, due to the ongoing ground fighting.
