Hasto Asks KPK To Reschedule Summons After PDIP Anniversary

Secretary General of the PDI-P (PDIP) Hasto Kristiyanto asked the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) to postpone the investigation as a suspect today, Monday, January 6. This is because there is a series of PDIP Anniversarys that have already been scheduled.

Hasto should have been summoned regarding the alleged interim replacement bribery (PAW) which also ensnared fugitive Harun Masiku and the obstruction of the investigation.

"Sekjen Hasto Kristiyanto be unable to fulfill the summons today," said Chairman of the PDIP DPP for Legal Reform Ronny B. Talapesy in a written statement, Monday, January 6.

Ronny said Hasto would obey the law as he said. "But we ask the KPK to be rescheduled after January 10 or after the PDI-P Anniversary commemoration," said the lawyer.

"We leave it to the KPK regarding the rescheduling," he continued.

Previously reported, the KPK summoned the Secretary General of the PDI-P (PDIP) Hasto Kristiyanto on Monday, January 6. He was asked to be present as a suspect in alleged bribery related to the interim replacement (PAW) of members of the Indonesian House of Representatives and the obstruction of the investigation at the KPK's Red and White Building, Kuningan Persada, South Jakarta.

"It's true, HK's brother is scheduled to be summoned by investigators today," said KPK spokesman Tessa Mahardhika to reporters in a written statement, Monday, January 6.

Tessa said Hasto would be worked on by investigators at 10.00 WIB. (Inspection, ed) in his capacity as a suspect," he said.

The KPK has named PDIP Secretary General Hasto Kristiyanto and Donny Tri Istiqomah as PDIP cadres and lawyers as suspects in alleged bribery related to the interim replacement (PAW) of members of the Indonesian House of Representatives. They are suspected of participating in bribing former KPU commissioner Wahyu Setiawan to smooth out Harun Masiku's steps to become a member of the council.

In addition, Hasto is also a suspect in the obstruction of the investigation. He is suspected of carrying out a number of ways to make the case unfinished, one of which asked Harun to destroy his cellphone and run away after the hand arrest operation (OTT) was held.

In this case, Hasto and Donny have not been detained but have been prevented from leaving the country for six months. The same prohibition also applies to the former Minister of Law and Human Rights (Menkumham) of the era of President Joko Widodo, Yasonna H Laoly.
