Kremlin Spokesperson Says No Data On Russian Losses In Military Operations In Ukraine

JAKARTA - Russian Presidential Press Secretary Dmitry Peskov said on Tuesday he had no data on Russian losses during special military operations in Ukraine.

The Ukrainian side said Russia had suffered the loss of thousands of personnel, dozens of planes, and hundreds of Russian tanks in the invasion that began last week, although this could not be confirmed.

"We do not have such information. I do not have such data and cannot share it with you", he told reporters, adding that information on Russia's losses would be available after the operation was completed.

When asked if Russia's losses in the operation were reported to President Vladimir Putin, he said, "The Russian president received full information about the operation, full information was reported."

Meanwhile, Russian Defense Ministry Spokesman Igor Konashenkov said on Sunday, the Russian side suffered losses during the operation.

"Russian soldiers showed courage and heroism during special military operations. But, unfortunately, there were dead and wounded among them", he said, adding that Russia's losses were much less than the 'losses among Ukrainian troops' and nationalists.

Separately, Ukraine's general staff said Russian losses included 5,710 personnel, 29 destroyed and damaged aircraft, and 198 tanks, all figures that could not be verified. Russia did not provide a full account of its battlefield losses.

Clarifying the ongoing developments, the Russian Ministry of Defense assured that Russian troops are not targeting Ukrainian cities, but are limited to offensive operations and crippling Ukrainian military infrastructure. There is no threat whatsoever to the civilian population.
