President Biden Had No Intention Of Sending Troops To Ukraine: World War Starts When US-Russia Started Shooting

JAKARTA - Ukraine felt alone in the midst of war when Russia began its invasion. The United States would not have been involved in a combat situation with Russia from the start. All to avoid a world war.

US President Joe Biden made this statement. He ensured that US troops would not be sent to Ukraine to take part in the conflict.

"Our forces are not and will not be involved in a conflict," Biden said as he announced new sanctions against Russia.

"Our troops are not going to Europe to fight in Ukraine but to defend our NATO allies and reassure allies in the east," Biden continued.

When he announced the first phase of sanctions against Russia for initiating the invasion on Tuesday, Biden was also very careful to make clear that the US was not being aggressive towards Russia.

"Let me be clear: This was a really defensive move on our part. We have no intention of going against Russia," Biden said.

It is nothing. Biden said he would not consider any scenario that included sending US troops to evacuate Americans in Ukraine.

"Nothing. It was a world war when America and Russia started shooting at each other," he said.

While Biden's clarification that US troops would not engage offensively could help avoid conflict between the US and Russia, critics point out it also made it clear to Russian President Vladimir Putin that his troops would face fewer obstacles in their invasion.

Ukraine is bordered by NATO member countries Poland, Slovakia, Hungary and Romania. If Russia threatens any of these countries, the US will be required by treaty to defend them.

"However, we want to send an unmistakable message that the United States, along with our Allies, will defend every inch of NATO territory and abide by the commitments we have made to NATO," Biden said on Tuesday.

He said the same thing last week, in remarks from the White House, but added clearly, "Neither will we send troops to fight in Ukraine, but we will continue to support the Ukrainian people."

President Volodymyr Zelenskyy is currently feeling alone. He said Ukraine was "left alone" against Russia after President Vladimir Putin announced a full-scale military operation.

"We were left alone to defend our country," Zelenskyy said in a speech.

"Who is ready to fight with us? I don't see anyone," he lamented.

President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said he had contacted 27 European leaders. But neither of them directly responded to Ukraine's request to join NATO.
