JAKARTA - The Bantul Regency COVID-19 Task Force, Special Region of Yogyakarta, noted that 744 residents were confirmed positive for COVID-19 in a day. For the record, this is the highest daily case during wave three due to the Omicron variant.

Based on data from the Bantul COVID-19 Task Force released by the Regency Government in Bantul, Wednesday, February 23. The additional new cases were mostly from Banguntapan sub-district, 84 people, and Pandak also 84 people, then Bantul 82 people.

So that the number of active COVID-19 cases or patients undergoing isolation or quarantine in shelters and hospitals in the Bantul area was recorded at 4.727 people, a significant increase compared to the previous (22/2) which was recorded at 4.183 people.

It was also stated that COVID-19 isolation cases were spread in all 17 sub-districts in Bantul with the three highest cases, namely Banguntapan 729 people, Sewon 587 people, Kasihan 489 people, and Bantul also 489 people.

Meanwhile, Bantul Regent Abdul Halim Muslih said, facing an increase in the third wave of COVID-19 cases, the district government through the Health Service continued to accelerate vaccination, while also inviting the public to be stricter in health protocols.
