3 Houses In Antang Makassar Damaged By The Tornado

MAKASSAR - Makassar City BPBD's Pusdalops, South Sulawesi said three houses on Raya Baruga Street, Baruga Village, Antang Village, Makassar City were damaged by a tornado.

A total of three houses that were damaged by strong winds were inhabited by 15 people from three families.

Acting Governor of South Sulawesi Andi Sudirman Sulaiman, who received the information, immediately asked the Regional Disaster Management Agency (BPBD) of South Sulawesi Province (Sulsel) to move quickly in distributing aid to victims affected by the disaster.

"The Provincial BPBD team is preparing food logistics assistance and shelter logistics for victims affected by the tornado on Raya Baruga Street, Antang", he said, quoted by Antara, Tuesday, January 18. Andi also hoped that this logistical assistance could be useful and help residents affected by the disaster.

"The government's presence is of course to ensure that the logistical readiness of aid is right on target and can help the affected victims", he said.

Meanwhile, the Meteorology, Climatology and Geophysics Agency (BMKG) Region IV Makassar has issued a circular letter warning of weather conditions in South Sulawesi for the next three days.

The circular is about early warning of weather conditions in South Sulawesi from January 18-20, 2022.
