TARAKAN - The Tarakan Police Criminal and Investigation Unit, North Kalimantan, have arrested an individual Koran teacher with the initials AR (27) who is suspected of molesting five male students.

This case was uncovered after three victims reported it to their families and forwarded them to the Tarakan Police.

"The five boys who were molested were students of the Koran which happened on January 1, 2022 at 23.30," said the Tarakan Police Chief, AKBP Taufik Nurmandia accompanied by Kasatreskrim Iptu Muhammad Aldi at the Tarakan Police Headquarters, Antara, Tuesday, January 18.

AR suspect's mode of molesting the victims aged between the ages of 13 and 16 in the rented house by inviting them to watch the Indonesian national team match together. Then there were five victims who were called one by one into the toilet and then carried out an obscene act.

"Perpetrators took action against the victims once, twice and even up to eight times," said Taufik.

Meanwhile, Aldi added that the suspect AR was not only a Koran teacher but also a teacher at a private junior high school in Tarakan.

"During the interrogation of the person concerned (AR), he admitted that he had committed obscene acts against five male victims," said Aldi.

Currently, six witnesses have been examined from various parties, including the victim's family and neighbors from the rented house.

In handling victims at this time, the Tarakan Police have written to the Witness and Victim Protection Agency (LPSK) to provide assistance to the victims.

As well as coordination with the Integrated Service Center for the Empowerment of Women and Children (P2TP2A) Tarakan who was involved in handling the psychology.
