JAKARTA - Omicron is again threatening the world. All governments have warned their citizens not to be infected. But that rule does not apply to this Australian bride-to-be who is already planning a wedding day next February.

Interesting to know why they deliberately want to contract the virus. While people are spending time confined to their homes, restaurants, and hotels are closed and the government is banning people from going on vacation.

But brides-to-be in Australia have devised a unique strategy to deal with COVID-19. The way, well, must be infected.

Citing Australian media outlets, Maddy Smart has posted a video on TikTok of hugging men and women at a Melbourne nightclub in an attempt to catch the virus.

In the 15-second video, Smart is also seen exchanging drinks.

"Your wedding POV is 6 weeks away and you still haven't caught COVID," he said in the accompanying caption, as reported by the New York Post.

An Australian bride-to-be has found an unconventional way to prevent COVID-19 from ruining her big day - by getting it on purpose.

The video was posted just before Victoria, Melbourne state, announced that starting January 12, it would close all indoor dance floors to everyone, except wedding parties, to stem the rise of Omicron.

"It's sad to be a health worker watching this," lamented one detractor.
