Odd Even Policy In Bogor: 3,525 Motorcycles and Cars Have Been Turned Around

JAKARTA - Bogor City Police have turned around 3,525 motorbikes and cars that passed at six checkpoints during the implementation of odd-even vehicle number plates until Saturday, January 15, noon.

The Head of Bogor City Police, Grand Commissioner Pol. Susatyo, when reviewing the odd-even implementation at the Baranangsiang intersection, said that quite a lot of thousands of vehicles were turned around on the first day of this weekend.

"This will continue to be carried out situationally, based on the situation being monitored at every point," said Grand Commissioner Pol. Susatyo, quoted on Saturday, January 15th.

Susatyo revealed that the Bogor City Police will always monitor the decrease or increase in the thousands of vehicles entering and leaving the city of Bogor in the application of the odd-even vehicle number plates today.

Odd-even applies from 9.00-11.00 WIB with the number of vehicles being turned back consisting of 2,032 motorcycles and 1,493 cars.

The checks were carried out at six road points, namely at the exit of the Irama Nusantara electronics store, Jalan Merdeka, Veterans gas station on Jalan Veteran, Batutulis Intersection, Fountain Roundabout, Bumi Aki Restaurant, and Baranangsiang Intersection.

Furthermore, the plan for implementing odd-even schemes will be carried out again at around 15.00 WIB considering the situation of vehicle density.

The city of Bogor as a buffer for the capital city, he said, needed to anticipate the entry of a new variant of COVID-19, namely Omicor, whose cases of exposure increased for Jakarta residents.

"So this odd or even number is not due to congestion, but to suppress the mobility of residents," he said.
