Big Billboard On North Ring Road Sleman Collapses In Strong Winds

SLEMAN - A large billboard or billboard installed at the intersection of the North Ring Road Condongcatur, Depok, Sleman Regency, Yogyakarta Special Region, collapsed due to strong winds that accompanied the rain.

"It happened at around 13.30 WIB when there was heavy rain accompanied by strong winds", said the Head of the Regional Disaster Management Agency (BPBD) of Sleman Regency, Makwan, quoted by Antara on Wednesday, January 12.

According to him, the collapsed billboards were on the north side of the North Ring Road and the west side of Anggajaya Street (North-West corner) and were on the west side of the Traffic Police Post.

"This incident has resulted in some sections of the Ring Road being closed from the west", he said.

Makwan said the incident also resulted in several power lines and telephone poles being cut off due to being hit by billboards.

"There are no injured or dead victims. Currently, we are still carrying out evacuation efforts to clean the location", he said.

Makwan said the evacuation involved the BPBD Sleman, the National Police, and SAR volunteers. Meanwhile, for material losses or victims, data is still being collected.

"Our priority is to evacuate first so that the location is safer and traffic flows smoothly", he said.
