South Sulawesi Police Delegates Corruption Cases At Batua Makassar Hospital With 13 Suspects To The Prosecutor's Office

MAKASSAR - The Corruption Crime Investigator (Tipidkor) of the Special Criminal Investigation Directorate of the South Sulawesi Police has delegated the second phase, namely suspects and evidence of alleged corruption in the construction of the Batua Makassar Hospital.

The Head of Public Relations of the South Sulawesi Regional Police, Kombes Komang Suartana, said that the transfer of the second stage of the alleged corruption case at Batua Hospital after the public prosecutor's team stated that the case file was complete.

"As soon as there is confirmation from the prosecution team, we will immediately transfer the second stage so that this handling process can be continued at the trial stage", he said, quoted by Antara on Wednesday, January 12.

There are also 13 suspects in the case with the initials AR, SN, MA, FM, HS, MW, AS, MK, AIHS, AEHS, DR, ATR, and RP. The former head of the Makassar City Health Office who is the power user of the budget (KPA) is also on the list of suspects.

The Director of the Special Investigation and Criminal Directorate of the South Sulawesi Police, Kombes Widoni Fedri, said that the suspects are currently still serving the first 20-day detention period starting on Thursday, December 30, 2021.

"Our first phase of the delegation was last week and after research by the prosecutor's team was declared complete, today the second phase of the delegation was completed so that the case will proceed to trial", he said.

Previously, in the case of congregational corruption, it had cost the state finances of IDR 22 billion. The type C hospital construction project, located on Abdulah Daeng Sirua Street, has a budget of IDR 25.5 billion and started in 2018.

This case began to be investigated in December 2020 by the police, based on the results of the examination by the Indonesian Supreme Audit Agency (BPK).

The police arrested these 13 suspects with Article 2 paragraph 1 Subsidiary Article 3 of Law 31 of 1999 concerning the Crime of Corruption as amended in Law Number 20 of 2001 in conjunction with Article 55 paragraph (1) to 1e of the Criminal Code.
