Antigen Test, Krukut Jakbar Residents Positive For COVID-19 Increases By 10 People

JAKARTA - 10 more people have been confirmed positive for COVID-19 in Krukut Village, Taman Sari District, West Jakarta, based on the results of the antigen swab and polymerase chain reaction (PCR) tests.

"There are 10 positive people, the results of the antigen test. Now they are in self-isolation waiting for approval for referrals at the Athlete's House", said Krukut Village Head, Ilham Nurkarin, quoted by Antara on Monday, January 10.

The antigen swab and PCR tests were carried out to track the spread of COVID-19 after 36 of its citizens were positive for COVID-19 a few days ago.

With these findings, the total number of Krukut residents who are positive for COVID-19 is 46 residents.

However, his party has not been able to confirm whether the exposed residents were exposed to the Omicron variant or not.

Previously, 36 Krukut residents tested positive for COVID-19 after undergoing a health test.

Of the 36 residents, one was hospitalized due to childbirth and the rest underwent self-isolation at Wisma Atlet Hospital, Kemayoran.

Nurkarin said this finding came from one of the residents who carried out an independent PCR test at a hospital in the Taman Sari area after arriving from outside the city. The results of the PCR test came out on January 5 with a positive result.

Because of the test results, health workers searched the area where the first patient lived. Those who were found to have been in contact with the patient immediately underwent a PCR test and a swab test.

As a result, as many as 36 residents tested positive for COVID-19. The family of the first patient was included in the 36 residents who tested positive for COVID-19.

He also appealed to other citizens to comply with health protocols when doing activities outside the home to minimize the spread of COVID-19.
