JAKARTA - The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) revealed that dozens of people were arrested in a hand arrest operation (OTT) in the Bekasi area, West Java on Wednesday, January 5.

In addition to arresting the Mayor of Bekasi Rahmat Effendi, the team also arrested the Bekasi City Government Civil Apparatus (ASN) and the private sector.

"In this arrest activity, the KPK has secured several parties, so far there are around 12 people including the Bekasi Mayor, Bekasi City Government ASN, and several private parties," Acting KPK Spokesperson for Enforcement Ali Fikri told reporters, Thursday, January 6.

Ali said the party involved in the silent operation was still being investigated for questioning. He said this was important to clarify allegations of corruption, bribery, procurement of goods and services, and auction of positions.

"Until now, the KPK team is still requesting clarification and information from those who have been detained," he said.
