Good News! 10 Consecutive Days, No Cases Of COVID-19 In Kulon Progo

KULON PROGO - The Kulon Progo Regency Government, Yogyakarta Special Region (DIY) noted that for 10 consecutive days there were no additional confirmed positive COVID-19 patients. With this, three active cases were recorded in the area.

A spokesperson for the Kulon Progo COVID-19 Task Force, Baning Rahayujati, said the development of COVID-19 cases had slowed, ranging from 0-1 cases.

"By sloping down the COVID-19 case, there are three active cases out of the total cases since the beginning of the pandemic until now as many as 22,259 cases," Baning said in Kulon Progo, as quoted from Antara, Tuesday, January 4.

Baning added, for five consecutive days, the occupancy rate of the COVID-19 referral hospital ward in Kulon Progo was zero percent, and the queue occupancy rate at the ER was also zero.

"All beds for confirmed COVID-19 patients in two hospitals and seven private hospitals are on standby," he said.

Baning said that as COVID-19 cases continued to decline, the number of Neighborhood Associations (RT) entered the green zone. Currently, the number of RTs that enter the green zone is 99.98 percent or 4,477 RTs from a total of 4,478 RTs.

"Currently, only one RT is in the yellow zone. Even in the last few months, in Kulon Progo there is no longer the orange zone and the COVID-19 red zone," he said.

For this reason, he appealed to the public to continue to adhere to strict and disciplined health protocols, starting from wearing masks, washing hands, and keeping a distance. People who have not been vaccinated should immediately go to the nearest public health service to receive vaccination services.

"Health protocols and vaccinations are the main keys in preventing the spread of COVID-19," he said.

Furthermore, Baning said that until today, the achievement of the first dose of vaccination in general based on the calculation of KPC PEN is 86.5 percent or 327,193 of the total 378,177 targets. Then the achievement of the second dose of vaccination has reached 70.8 percent or 267,812 targets.

"We will conduct a sweep of the people who have not been vaccinated and complete the vaccination of children aged 6-11 years," he said.
