JAKARTA - An electrical short circuit in a fan caused 14 houses in the Rawa Buaya settlement, Cengkareng, West Jakarta, to catch fire on Tuesday, January 4.
"It is suspected that an electric 'short' occurred in a fan from one house, causing a fire", said Head of the Operations Section of the West Jakarta Fire and Rescue (Gulkarmat) Sub-dept., Sjukri Bahanan, when confirmed in Jakarta, reported by Antara.
West Jakarta Gulkarmat officers received reports from residents regarding the fire at around 13.15. Within minutes, firefighters arrived at the scene to begin the extinguishing process.

After nearly two hours of battling the fire, the firefighters finally managed to extinguish the fire that had engulfed the 14 semi-permanent houses.
