JAKARTA - Another fire incident hit several houses on Rawa Terate Street, RT 010/05, Rawa Terate Village, Cakung District, East Jakarta. The fire quickly spread from one resident's house to another.

Residents reported the fire incident to the East Jakarta Fire and Rescue Service (Gulkarmat), Monday, January 3, at around 01.36 western Indonesia time.

"There are three houses that burned, the area of the burnt object was 100 meters," said the Head of the Operations Section of the East Jakarta Gulkarmat Sub-dept. when confirmed, Monday, January 3, afternoon.

From the results of a temporary investigation, the fire came from the house of one of the residents who cooked, but forgot to turn it off and fell asleep.

"It is suspected that the cause of the fire came from the stove. The fire victim was cooking and sleeping. Suddenly the victim woke up because he felt the heat, then he realized that there was a fire because he saw thick smoke and the fire was big," said Gatot.

As a result of the fire incident, three residents' houses were burned down. Luckily, the fire did not spread widely because it was assisted by 13 fire engines to sprinkle water.

"The fire was extinguished at 02.25 western Indonesia time. As many as 65 Gulkarmat officers were deployed. The loss was estimated at Rp350 million," he said.
