BANDARLAMPUNG - The Chief of the Tulang Bawang Police, Lampung, Grand Commissioner Adjutant Hujra Soumena, has ensured that the security situation in the Tulang Bawang area is conducive. This assertion was in response to the viral Christmas service of the Indonesian Pentecostal Church (GPI) in Tulang Bawang which was prohibited by residents.

"With that, we are very grateful to Pastor Polite Sidabutar and all his congregations as well as the community who have provided space and time during the Christmas service which was also carried out by members of the police and Koramil until it was finished," Hujra said at a press conference quoted by Antara, Tuesday, December 28.

Meanwhile, Dandim 0426 Tulang Bawang, Lt. Col. Kav. Joko Sunarto, said that inter-religious harmony was running in harmony.

It also ensures that every religious person is safe and comfortable in carrying out worship activities in accordance with their respective religious beliefs, regulations, and applicable laws.

"We always put forward the principles of deliberation and consensus to resolve any problems that occur between us," he said.

Meanwhile, the Pastor at GPI Tulang Bawang, Sopan Sidabutar, said that based on videos circulating on social media related to Christmas celebration activities at GPI Tulang Bawang, there was no persecution of Christmas worship.

"I explained that it was a misperception, it is true that there had been a misunderstanding with local community leaders before the worship activities were carried out. But we were able to finish it well and we can carry out the Christmas celebration service until it is finished with security from the Banjar Agung Police and Banjar Agung Koramil," he said.
