SMRC Survey: Still Below 4 Percent, Voter Support For NasDem, PPP And PAN Not Convincing

JAKARTA - The Saiful Muzani Research & Consulting Institute (SMRC) noted that voter support for NasDem, PPP, and PAN party has not been convincing.

This is because public support for the three parties is still below 4 percent or has not met the parliamentary threshold.

SMRC Executive Director, Sirojudin Abbas, said that in this survey, NasDem only received 3.4 percent of public support, 2.7 percent for PPP, and 1.8 percent for PAN.

"These three parties have not experienced significant changes in the last two years", Abbas said in a release forum entitled 'Prospects of Political Parties and Presidential Candidates: Trends in Political Behavior of National Voters' online, Tuesday, December 28.

Meanwhile, in the March 2020 survey, NasDem was supported by 3 percent of voters. "Meanwhile, PPP and PAN Party got around 2.4 and 2.3 votes", he said.

In the SMRC survey, PDIP was in first place with 25.2 percent gain, second Golkar 11.2 percent, third Gerindra 10.8 percent, fourth PKB 8.4 percent, fifth Democrat 6.2 percent, and sixth PKS 5.1 percent.

Meanwhile, NasDem 3.4 percent in seventh position. Followed by PPP Party 2.7 percent, Perindo 2.0 percent, and PAN Party 1.8 percent.

This SMRC survey was conducted on 8-16 December 2021 through face-to-face interviews. The number of initial samples is 2420 randomly selected (multistage random sampling) from the entire Indonesian population who are at least 17 years old or married.

With a total of 2,062 or 85 percent of respondents who can be interviewed validly. The survey's margin of error with this sample size is estimated at about 2.2 percent at the 95 percent confidence level.
