Penajam Paser Utara, The Location Of The New State Capital, Still Has 12 Blank Spots For Telecommunications Networks

PENAJAM - Penajam Paser Utara Regency (PPU), East Kalimantan currently still has 12 blank spot areas for telecommunications networks. This condition has become a program for the related agency to be completed in 2022.

"The 12 blank spot areas are spread over three sub-districts out of four sub-districts in PPU," said Head of the PPU Regency Communication and Information Office (Diskominfo) Budi Santoso in Penajam, quoted by Antara, Monday, December 27.

In detail, in Penajam District there are still four points spread over three villages and one sub-district, namely Bukit Subur Village, Sidorejo Village, Giri Purwa Village, and Sepan Village.

Then in Sepaku District, there are still four locations spread over three villages and one sub-district, namely Bumi Harapan Village, Binuang Village, Telemow Village, and Sepaku Village.

Furthermore, in Babulu District, there are still four blank spot locations spread over four villages, namely Rintik Village, Gunung Makmur, Sumber Sari, and West Labangka Village.

"The blank spot locations are not 100 percent blank spots, but sometimes the network is there but not optimal, then not all of the villages/residences experience blank spots, for example in RT 1 and RT 2 there is a network, but in other RT the network is not optimal," he said.

His party has communicated with the central government several times, so that next year, the Ministry of Communications and Informatics through the Telecommunication and Information Accessibility Agency (BAKTI) will address this issue.

BAKTI Kemkominfo in the 2022 work program, continued Budi, the plan is to install BTS (Base Transceiver Station) in a number of these blank spot areas, so that in the same year the telecommunications network is expected to be functional.

"In this case, there are providers who have contacted us, asking for complete information about which areas are still blank spots, so we hope that communication with this provider will be followed up immediately with the installation of BTS," said Budi.
