BANDUNG - Prosecutors from the West Java High Prosecutor's Office (Kejati) found indications of an alleged misappropriation of social assistance funds (bansos) by HW, a suspect in the case of raping students.

Head of the West Java Attorney General's Office Asep N Mulyana said there were a number of social assistance (bansos) proposed by HW on behalf of the students. One form of social assistance, he said, is the Smart Indonesia Program (PIP) and other social assistance.

"So according to what is suspected, we asked all of them, so it was not only a criminal act against the children, but also related to the use of social assistance," said Asep at the Bandung District Court, Bandung City, West Java, Tuesday, December 21.

However, after the social assistance was disbursed, according to Asep, the funds obtained by the students were actually taken back by HW. So that the funds were allegedly used for HW's personal interests.

"The children received the social assistance and were withdrawn by the defendant to be used in the interests of the defendant," said Asep. According to Asep, one child witness was present in person and another child witness attended the online trial.

Meanwhile, the defendant HW attended the online trial. HW himself is currently languishing in the Bandung Detention Center (Rutan).

Meanwhile, HW was accused of committing immoral acts to 12 female students. His disgraceful actions caused the victims to experience pregnancy and give birth.

HW was charged with carrying out the action between 2016 and 2021. He is said to have carried out the action in a number of places, from Islamic boarding schools to lodging such as hotels and apartments. This was reported by Antara.
