KENDARI - The government of Kendari City, Southeast Sulawesi (Sultra), noted that the vaccination coverage in its area until Monday, December 20 had touched 72 percent.

The mayor of Kendari, Sulkarnain Kadir said that based on reports received, the vaccination achievement for his city had reached 72 percent. Thus, it is hoped that communal immunity has been established, however, the people of the city are not complacent with the achievements of the vaccination.

According to Sulkarnain, by maintaining immunity, people can avoid COVID-19.

"Of course we urge the public to remain disciplined in complying with health protocols by always wearing masks, washing hands frequently, so that the exams at the turn of the year can be passed properly so that there are no more worries about health conditions and can return to normal activities," said Sulkarnain in Kendari, Monday, December 20.

Regarding vaccination for children aged 6 to 12 years, his party is currently preparing and waiting for the vaccine to be given to children of that age.

The implementation of vaccination in Kendari City is carried out en masse by the local Health Office in collaboration with other relevant parties in the context of accelerating vaccination nationally to above 70 percent in Southeast Sulawesi.
