JAKARTA - Sriana Devi's Twitter account, @devi_sriana recently made a scene by uploading a screenshot of someone praying and beside her there was a Christmas tree. The account says the Christmas tree is in the mosque.

“Praise the Lord Our God Christmas tree in mosque. This should be started from Saudi Arabia," wrote @devi_sriana in a Twitter account quoted from turnbackhoaz, Friday, December 17.

After searching, the fact is that the photo of the Christmas tree is not in a mosque but in a multi-cultural hall called the Selsdon Community Centre.

The location is also not in Saudi Arabia like the narrative in the photo but in Southern England. The tweet in the photo has been circulating since 2018.

Quoting from IlmFeed as reported turnbackhoax, according to local residents, the Christmas tree was in a hall in the South of England called the Selsdon Community Centre. The hall is used for various activities, including Friday prayers and congregational tarawih.

“This is Selsdon Community center in South London, the hall is hired for Friday prayers and Alhamdulillah now we are able to do Taraweeh during Ramadan as well. It is a multi-cultural hall, we even invite local non-Muslims to come and observe on Fridays to raise awareness and spread love," said Imran Sheikh in a Facebook post on November 25, 2018.
