Nia Ramadhani Will Undergo A Follow-up Trial At The Central Jakarta District Court

JAKARTA - The defendants in the narcotics abuse case Artis Nia Ramadhani and her husband Ardi Bakrie, as well as personal driver Zen Vivanto, will undergo a follow-up trial at the Central Jakarta District Court, Thursday, December 16.

The attorney for Nia Ramadhani and Ardi Bakrie, Wa Ode Nur Zainab when confirmed, said that the client's follow-up trial was scheduled for direct examination of each of the defendants.

"Today's trial agenda is the examination of Mr. Ari, Mrs. Nia, Ivan," she said as reported by Antara.

The three of them will testify against the other defendants, because the three defendants are in the same case.

"The case is not split (splitsing). So, the examination is only as a defendant," said Wa Ode.

Chief Judge Muhammad Damis at the second trial, Thursday last week, said that the examination of the defendants was carried out directly in the courtroom at 10.00 western Indonesia time.

At the previous trial, the Public Prosecutor (JPU) presented four witnesses including three fact witnesses, Pandjiyanto as house assistant (ART) at Nia's house, Senja Kurnia Putri, clinical psychologist, and Hendra Heruman as the Fan Campus Program Director.

Meanwhile, one expert witness was presented, namely, a criminal law expert, Prof. Mudzakir.

The Public Prosecutor (JPU) indicted the celebrity couple and defendants Nia Ramadhani and Ardi Bakrie, as well as personal driver Zen Vivanto with articles of drug abuse for consuming narcotics class I.

For their actions, the defendants were charged with violating Article 127 paragraph 1 letter a of Law Number 35 of 2009 concerning Juncto Narcotics Article 55 paragraph 1 of the Criminal Code with a penalty of four years in prison.
