JAKARTA - The Task Force for Handling COVID-19 asked Indonesian citizens who were granted permission to self-quarantine after traveling internationally to set a good example.

"Be a good example for fellow Indonesians so that policies that have been prepared in such a way as to prevent the importation of cases, especially the Omicron variant, can be implemented properly," said Spokesperson for the COVID-19 Handling Task Force Prof. reported by Antara, Tuesday, December 14.

He emphasized that those who are allowed to quarantine in independent facilities are Indonesian officials at the echelon I level who have just completed their official duties and this discretion applies individually.

He stated that self-quarantine facilities are facilities outside of government referrals or private ownership/certain institutions that have met standards, including having separate bedrooms and bathrooms for each individual international traveler.

Then, ensure that quarantine procedures continue to run according to procedures, including minimizing contact during food distribution or eating activities, preventing physical contact with other travelers who are in quarantine or other individuals.

In addition, the self-quarantine facility is also equipped with quarantine supervisory officers who are required to report quarantine surveillance to KKP officers in their area, and continue to carry out the second RT-PCR test on the 9th day of quarantine and must report the results of the RT-PCR test to KKP officers in the area. its territory.

"We ask anyone who applies for discretion and cannot fulfill the requirements to quarantine in a centralized facility that has been provided by the government," he said.

On that occasion, Wiku also stated that the type of quarantine for international travelers based on the place of implementation is divided into two, namely centralized quarantine and self-quarantine.

The government has provided centralized quarantine facilities such as the Pademangan Athlete's Wisma specifically for Indonesian Migrant Workers (PMI), students, and ASN.

Meanwhile, Indonesian citizens outside that category and foreigners including foreign diplomats outside the head of foreign representatives and their families, he continued, must personally bear the costs of mandatory quarantine according to the required duration based on the country of origin of their arrival.

"The government requires international travelers whose quarantine costs are not covered in centralized facilities must show proof of payment confirmation for booking quarantine accommodations from accommodation providers while staying in Indonesia," said Wiku.
