Residents Of Madiun, City Government Will Close Crowded Places On New Year's Eve

MADIUN - The Government of Madiun City, East Java will close all crowded places that can cause crowds on New Year's Eve 2022 to prevent the threat of COVID-19 transmission.

"New Year's Eve, Madiun City Square and all crowded places will be closed," said Madiun Mayor Maidi, quoted by Antara, Monday, December 13.

The Ministry of Home Affairs has issued the results of the PPKM assessment for all regions in Indonesia to welcome the 2021 Christmas and New Year 2022 holidays. As a result, Madiun City is included in PPKM Level 1. However, a number of restrictions are still in place to anticipate the third wave of COVID-19 transmission.

Even though it is classified as PPKM Level 1, Maidi emphasized that there will be no New Year celebration party in Madiun City. In fact, the city government implemented a number of restrictions, including a discourse on turning off lights to avoid crowds.

The municipal government also monitors the entrance to the city. A number of monitoring posts will be alerted at a number of entry points for Madiun City, such as Tean, Jiwan, and PG Rejo Agung Baru points. Monitoring posts are also located along Pahlawan Street Center as a tourist destination.

Even so, the Mayor of Maidi did not prohibit immigrants from visiting Madiun City as long as they could show negative results on the rapid antigen or PCR test. In addition, a minimum dose of 1 dose of COVID-19 has been vaccinated.

If there are newcomers who have not vaccinated, the city government will provide a special booth at Sumber Wangi Park until December 31, 2021.

"WNI immigrants who have not been vaccinated, please vaccinate. There is a dose 1 and dose 2. Anyway, the results of the antigen test or PCR must be negative," he said.

The Mayor of Madiun asked the public to obey the rules set by the government and the discipline of the health program, especially in terms of overcoming the transmission of COVID-19.

"The more obedient, the faster we will go to the green zone and the faster the economy will turn and recover," he said.
