COVID-19 Update As Of December 12: 163 New Cases, 5,158 Active Cases

JAKARTA - The Ministry of Health (Kemenkes) released the latest additional positive cases of COVID-19 as of today. A total of 261,731 specimens were examined today. As a result, there were 163 new positive cases of COVID-19.

"The total accumulation of positive cases since COVID-19 was discovered in Indonesia has reached 4,259,143 people and 5,158 active cases," according to data from the Ministry of Health, Sunday, December 12.

Today's recovered cases increased by 184 cases, bringing the total to 4,110,049 people recovered. Then, the positive confirmed cases who died increased by 7 people and a total of 143,936 people.

The province with the newest cases is DKI Jakarta with 32 cases and a total of 864,390 cases. Followed by West Java which has 22 new cases with a total of 708,340 cases. East Java has 21 new cases and a total of 399,728 cases. Then, Central Java has 10 new cases and a total of 486,630 cases.

The province with the most recovered cases today belongs to DKI Jakarta with an additional 40 recovered cases. Followed by East Java with an additional 29 recovered cases, Central Java with an additional 28 recovered cases, and DI Yogyakarta with an additional 23 recovered cases.

There are 14 provinces that reported no new cases today, namely Aceh, Jambi, South Sumatra, Bengkulu, Riau Islands, West Nusa Tenggara, Central Kalimantan, South Kalimantan, East Kalimantan, Southeast Sulawesi, Gorontalo, West Sulawesi, Maluku and North Maluku.

In addition, the number of specimens that have been examined using RT-PCR, TCM, and antigens has reached 58,162,340.

"Positive results per number of people tested or this week's positivity rate of 0.09 percent," he wrote.

The number of people suspected of contracting COVID-19 or who are currently categorized as suspected cases, was recorded at 3,283 people. Currently, 34 provinces have had cases of COVID-19.

Furthermore, currently there are 146,489,638 people who have received the first dose of COVID-19 vaccination and 102,910,182 of the second dose of vaccination. Then, the third dose of vaccination was 1,257,133. Meanwhile, the target for vaccination in Indonesia is 208,265,720 people.
