Affirming Britain's Support For Ukraine Facing Russia, Foreign Minister Liz Truss Ultimatum Iran Signs Nuclear Deal

JAKARTA - British Foreign Minister Liz Truss is not awkward in facing the dynamics of global politics, even though she has only recently been in her position, on 15 September to be exact.

Recently, Foreign Minister Truss emphasized Britain's support for Ukraine in dealing with Russia, and warned Iran to immediately sign the nuclear deal.

Foreign Minister Truss vowed on Wednesday to stand "with Ukraine" against Russian aggression, saying London was discussing with NATO allies other steps that should be taken to prevent any attack.

Asked whether Britain would support deploying more troops to support Ukraine through NATO or from the UK directly, he told think tank Chatham House:

"We are also discussing with our NATO allies other steps such as economic and diplomatic steps that can be taken. However, it is very clear that we stand with Ukraine in the face of this aggression," she said.

On the same occasion, Foreign Minister Truss warned that this was the country's 'last chance' to sign the nuclear deal. Foreign Minister Truss urged Iran to sign the 2015 nuclear deal, just a day before talks are expected to resume this Thursday.

"This is truly the last chance for Iran to sign (the deal), and I strongly urge them to do so because we are determined to work with allies to prevent Iran from securing nuclear weapons," she stressed.

"So, they need to sign the JCPOA (Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action) agreement, it is in their interest to do so," she concluded.
