MANOKWARI - The West Papua Regional Police (Polda) appealed to the public not to be taken in by provocative issues in the burning of PT. Bangun Kayu Irian (BKI) in the Maybrat Regency area on December 1.
The Head of Public Relations of the West Papua Police, Grand Commissioner Adam Erwindi, said that the temporary suspicion of burning the PT.BKI shelter was carried out by former employees with the motive of being hurt because they were fired.
"An ex-employee of PT BKI with the initials LK is suspected of setting fire to a base camp located in the Maybrat Regency area because he was hurt by the company's dismissal," he said, quoted by Antara, Thursday, December 2.
Adam Erwindi said that LK's alleged involvement in the burning of PT BKI's shelter was strengthened by the thwarting action carried out by the perpetrators two days earlier.
"On November 28, LK barred the basecamp, then on December 1 the fire was set before escaping," continued Grand Commissioner Adam.
