Former Banyuwangi Regent Azwar Anas Advances To Become LKPP Head Candidate

JAKARTA - Former Banyuwangi Regent Abdullah Azwar Anas has passed the selection as a candidate for head of the Government Goods/Services Procurement Policy Institute (LKPP) along with two other people.

"Based on the determination of the results of the 'assessment center' selection by the 2021 LPKPP Head candidate selection committee, we jointly announce that participants who pass the first selection, Abdullah Azwar Anas, have an assessment score of 100, the results meet the requirements," said the announcement on the LKPP website, quoted by Antara, Wednesday, December 1st.

In the announcement sheet Number 05/PANSEL.JPTU/12/2021 also mentioned the names of two other candidates who passed to the next selection stage, namely Sarah Sadiqa with an assessment score of 99 and Setya Budi Arijanta with an assessment score of 100. Both were from internal LKPP.

The three participants will then take part in the presentation and interview selection stages which will be held on Thursday, December 2, 2021, at 08.30 - 12.00 western Indonesia time online.

"This time the open selection of LKPP Head Candidates is open to the public, both for Civil Servants (PNS) and non-Civil Servants (Non-PNS).

This provides an opportunity for anyone who has met the requirements to participate in the selection stage," said LKPP Main Secretary Robin Asad Suryo as Chair of the Open Selection Secretariat Team for 2021 LKPP Head Candidates.

The open selection committee for the Head of LKPP is chaired by the Secretary of the Ministry of National Development Planning/National Development Planning Agency Himawan Hariyoga Djojokusumo with members of the Human Resources Assessor Main Expert Apparatus Dwi Wahyuni Atmaji, Deputy for Administration of the Cabinet Secretariat Farid Utomo; Principal Expert Policy Analyst/Plt. Head of the State Civil Service Agency Bima Haria Wibisana; and Practitioner for the Procurement of Goods/Services Agus Prabowo.

The Head of LKPP has been vacant since September 8, 2021, because the Head of LKPP for the 2019-2021 period Roni Dwi Susanto is the Main Widyaiswara within the Ministry of National Development Planning/Bappenas.

Azwar Anas himself served as the Regent of Banyuwangi for the 2010-2015 and 2016-2021 periods and had entered the stock exchange for the candidate for deputy governor of East Java who accompanied Saifullah Yusuf in 2018 but failed to advance.

Azwar Anas is one of the young Nahdlatul Ulama (NU) leaders in Banyuwangi and has received NU support in the area to become the Regent of Banyuwangi for the first period through the National Awakening Party (PKB).

However, in the second term, he became a member of PDIP and was still supported by PKB, Anas served as Banyuwangi Regent for the 2016-2021 leadership period.

Previously, Azwar Anas was also a member of the Indonesian People's Consultative Assembly (MPR) from the Group's Envoy Fraction (1997-1999) and a member of the Indonesian House of Representatives (DPR RI) from the National Awakening Faction (2004-2009).

Meanwhile, Sarah Sadiqa currently serves as Acting Head of LKPP, while Setya Budi Arijanta currently serves as Deputy for Legal Affairs and Dispute Resolution for LKPP.

LKPP is a non-ministerial institution that has the function to formulate policies and regulations related to the procurement of government goods and services.

One of the breakthroughs in the development of policies for the procurement of goods/services is to build an Electronic Catalog (e-catalog) which is an electronic information system that contains a list, brand, type, technical specification, price, and amount of availability of certain goods/services from various providers.
