Spreading The Disgrace Of Family, Father And Son In Deli Serdang Persecution Of Neighbors To Death

DELI SERDANG A tragic murder case occurred in Deli Serdang Regency, North Sumatra, where a father and son abused their neighbors to death. This incident was triggered by annoyance and hurt after the victim, Matthew Ginting (44), allegedly spread the disgrace of the perpetrator's family.

Matthew, who is a resident of Suka Maju Village, Sunggal District, died after undergoing treatment at the Bethesda Sunggal Hospital due to stab wounds to the ribs, thighs, neck and stomach.

Medan Sunggal Police Chief, Police Commissioner Bambang Gunanti Hutabarat, explained that the incident began on Friday, January 3, 2025, at around 18.00 WIB.

The victim met with Bakti Kaban (BK) at a coffee shop, and after that met Alfredo Kaban (AK), BK's son. There was an argument where the victim allegedly threatened AK.

Feeling unacceptable, BK and AK took a knife from the house and brutally attacked the victim. BK stabbed the victim's ribs, while AK stabbed the victim's thigh and back. The victim fell into a ditch and was attacked again in the neck and stomach.

The seriously injured victim was taken to the hospital but died an hour later.

Based on the results of the investigation, the motive for this murder was heartache. The victim is accused of spreading the disgrace of the perpetrator's family, including accusing AK of committing indecent acts in church while dating his wife.

The police managed to arrest the two perpetrators on Monday, January 6, 2025, at a hotel in Medan. Evidence in the form of two knives was confiscated.

The two perpetrators are now charged with Article 338 of the Criminal Code concerning murder with a penalty of up to 15 years in prison.
