Minister Of State Secretary: Deputy Minister Positions Are Available But Not All Are Filled, As Needed

JAKARTA - Minister of State Secretary, Pratikno, said the position of deputy minister is indeed regulated in a Presidential Regulation (Perpres) on institutions. However, he emphasized that this rule does not mean that the position must be filled.

"In the institutional regulation of several ministries, there are positions of deputy ministers, but not all of them are filled. Filled according to need", Pratikno told reporters, Wednesday, November 1.

Pratikno said the government did design a dynamic organization. So, even though the position is regulated in the regulations, it does not become a problem when no one fills it.

"We ourselves will institutionally design the organization to be dynamic. Even though there is a position, it does not mean that it must be filled. That is why there are some (such as, red) Ministry of Religion that has a deputy ministerial post filled, some others are not filled", he said.

This condition continued Pratikno, also occurred for the position of Deputy Minister of Education and Culture-Technology Research. According to him, until now the position is still vacant although it is possible that later someone will be appointed to fill it.

However, before the process of filling the position, of course, an evaluation will be carried out first to measure whether it is necessary or not.

"Until now, no one has filled the position of Wamendikbudristek, ed. We will continue to evaluate also, of course, we see the workload and also the dynamics that exist in the ministry concerned. Until now there is no plan to fill it", he concluded.
